The internet is full of great resources for game developers. One of my favorites is this list of corridors from sci-fi movies.
You can see the full archive at the website here: Sci-fi Corridor Archive.
If you’re going to make a 3D RPG or game in a space station setting then this list makes art asset creation much easier. Manmade structures tend to have straight, clean lines. Sci-fi corridors in a particular are often relatively easy to model (or procedurally generated in code). Then fit them together and you’ve got your world!
Compare that to a fantasy world where you might have forests, jungles, mountains; all these fractal natural settings with great amounts of variety.
Some Favorite Corridors
Here’s a few of the corridors I’ve picked from the site.
These are corridors from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Here’s the corridor from Moon.
Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.
Alien, a classic corridor.
Finally the Andromeda Strain. I like the more rounded, clean look of this one.
